Felicia Day

About a month ago Felicia Day did a thing on Google+ with the Hangouts feature where she would hop into different Hangouts and chat for a while. She's really cool and that was a lot of fun.

She's doing another similar thing tonight, Tuesday November 15, 2011 at 7pm Pacific
time on Vokle. Should be pretty cool!

Failed Daily Sketch Resolution

A couple weeks ago I brought my Wacom Tablet to work to try and start doing a daily sketch or something. I ended up doing two that I saved and quit.

Baby Dracula.
Made him for Halloween and then forgot to do anything with him.

Bird skull?
I've always had a lot of trouble drawing something from scratch on a tablet. I was trying to mess around with different brush and pressure combinations.

Brick Chair in Progress Pictures

I had a lot of trouble getting good pictures of it because it weighs a couple hundred pounds. It now lives outside the Furniture Shop and the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis.

Painting in Progress Pictures

Here's a painting I did. It is black and white acrylic under painting (grisaille) with an acrylic color glaze on panel. We had to copy a historic painting and since Frank Frazetta had just passed away I thought I would pick one of his.

Here's a bench I did that got into the Student Show at Herron a couple years ago.
Still need to get some good pictures of it.

I guess the main picture got cut off. Oh well, you get the idea.

Bookshelf in Progress Pictures

Haven't updated for a long time. I found some old work in progress pictures of a bunch of projects from school. I'll put some up to show some of the steps.

This first one is the veneered bookshelf I made for my comic collected editions.

Spidey Sketch by Mike Krahulik

Here's my only other piece of original art, a Spider-Man sketch I got from Mike Krahulik at PAX East last year.

It took him about 3 seconds and I love it. Next convention I got to I would love to get a bunch of 3-Second-Spideys.

Another Desktop Wallpaper

Just whipped another desktop wallpaper and put it on my deviantART page.

Similar to the other ones I was playing with. Texture is based on this excellent Photoshop tutorial.

The Big Ugly Challenge as seen on Man Vs. Food

Barely survived The Big Ugly at Bub's Burgers and Ice Cream in Carmel, IN last weekend.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Code Name: Assassin definitely flies by pumping his legs and/or arms really fast.

I finally decided to actually look him up on Wikipedia.

Thundercats Day!

Thundercats is on tonight at 8/7c on Cartoon Network! I of course, will miss it because I have to run Friday Night Magic and will have to watch it tomorrow.

Awesome Water Bottle Designs

I just got an awesome water bottle with a design by a local Indy artist named Pete Brown.

Super Coke Machine! *Update*

The Firehouse Subs on 86th and Michigan got the most awesome Coke machine in the world!
It has "over 100 flavors" of Coke and Coke products.

Amazing!

Update:
I recommend Orange Coke  or  90% Vanilla Coke + 10% Raspberry Coke.

First Day at the Comic Shop!

Started work at Downtown Comics West this afternoon!

After an 8 hour delay followed by a cancelled flight, then a new flight that was an hour late, I worked for a solid week and had my flight home delayed by 3 hours.

I am done traveling for a while.

I'm pretty sure this would have been faster.

Graduation!

Don't get too excited.
My cat can do it.
